Comics now available to buy through my online store!
On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of November I’ll be exhibiting at Thought Bubble in Leeds. You can find me at table 169.
I must be crazy to be posting again so close to Thought Bubble, but my online store is now available at http://pmbuchan.bigcartel.com and you can buy a digital edition of the first issue of La Belle Dame Sans Merci. Expect an update to the store next week when I open orders for the printed edition.
I’ve been lucky enough to get a lot of positive coverage about my comics recently:
Disconnected Press talk about my work with Martin Simmonds in relation to our story All Roads Lead To Hell, in Disconnected 2.
The British Fantasy Society and Broken Frontier are both running an announcement about the launch of BLACKOUT with Jack Fallows, Phillip Marsden, Andy Waugh, Mike Barnes and Harley Poe’s Joe Whiteford. The best part of this is that because of me there’s now a post on the website of the British Fantasy Society titled Just one more drink… What’s the worst that could happen?
A couple of famous comic creators have been kind enough to read advance copies of BLACKOUT for us and here’s what they had to say about it:
“It’s beautiful and obscene and glorious and depraved, and will damage the minds of anyone who reads it. But y’know, in a good way.” – Jamie Smart (Bear, Corporate Skull and Bunny vs Monkey)
“Sick, brutal, odd, precise…disconcerting in much the same way as a staring contest with a pathological liar. Who are these beautifully sinister bastards?!?” – Kasra Ghanbari (44FLOOD, TOME, MONOCYTE)
With support like this I hope that BLACKOUT will find its way into the hands of people that will really appreciate our brand of horror-comedy, and not just generate complaints from a load of easily offended old ladies.
Small Press Big Mouth have a post that includes details about La Belle Dame Sans Merci & BLACKOUT.
LBDSM cover-colourist Kate Brown (Freakangels, Fish + Chocolate) also blogged some support for the series.
Finally, I just finished a new comic strip called The Shoemaker’s Shame with artist M D Penman for a future issue of Starburst. Look forward to this one!
And there’s a new, free, issue of INFINITY out today for iPads, featuring my column about digital comics and my massive interview with Madefire co-founder Liam Sharp. Download it now if you have an iPad, it’s free, you have NO excuse not to.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m off to not sleep for a couple of hours before Thought Bubble.
